England vs New Zealand, 1st Semi-Final

Since the day England were knocked out of the ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand last year, a lot has changed for them. They are now called the 'New England' and play a brand of fearless cricket. Things surely have changed, but the ICC World Twenty20 2016 is their biggest chance to show that they are on their way up in limited-overs cricket. In crucial clashes, it's important that the players put their hands up and perform. England have had several of them in the Super 10 stage, but Jason Roy has come up with performances that has really created an impact. England were up against South Africa in Mumbai, having lost their previous game against West Indies. To pile on the misery, South Africa posted 229 for 4.
England needed a win to stay alive. England needed a rocking start. Who made sure that the chase got off the a best possible start? Jason Roy. he raced to a 16-ball 43. England stayed in the competition with a two-wicket win. After that win, England motored to the semifinal with wins against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. In their semifinal clash against New Zealand, the bowlers did well to pull things back from Kane Williamson's team. But who ensured New Zealand were knocked out of the contest as soon as the chase began? Jason Roy. He hammered four boundaries in the very first over to set the ball rolling for his team. He then ensured that there was at least a boundary every over. England were well on their way to the final in Kolkata, and Roy had a huge role to play in it with a 44-ball 78. He scored 82 runs with Alex Hales in just 8.2 overs to deliver the knock out punch. For his clean hitting and fearless batting, he has emerged as our style icon of the match.
